Wikigogy is C L O S E D

Wikigogy saw little action. So I closed it. It had been an interesting two years with some spurts of generous content writing from a handful of people. However, most months had seen no activity except spam bot fighting. Wikigogy -- Closed as of August, 2008 -- was a networking Web site for teachers of English as a second or foreign language.

  • Site may be removed soon. For now to fight spam efficiently Wikigogy will periodically be reverted to its August, 2008 state.
  • Comments about the site closure are welcome on the Main page.

[edit] Procedure

Break students into 3-5 teams.

  • Have target language with one question at the end. (e.g. "Hello. My name is ____. What is your name?")
  • With teams lined up - the sentences are spoken to the person in front, and the question to the person behind (next student).
  • The last student must say the sentences to the person in front of them, then run up the front (to the teacher) and ask the question.

Winning team is the first to the front and completed question.

[edit] Extentions

  • Have the whole conversation between two students (i.e. sentences and questions/answers), then move on. For example:
    • Hello. My name is ____. What's your name?
    • Hello. My name is ____. Nice to meet you.
    • Nice to meet you too. (and shake hands)

[edit] Communicative demonstration

  • Have students familiar with the target language.
  • Demonstrate on one team of students (speaking for the students). Move the two "talking" students to face each other as you move down the line. Lots of action and making fun of different voices usually gets a laugh or two.
