This book review originally by Linell Davis, 1999. Copied here with her permission, see talk page.

This series of four English writing textbooks together constitute a full four year writing curriculum for English majors. The philosophy behind the curriculum is that writing is a process, so there is stress on the stages of writing: prewriting, drafting and revising. The books include professional essays and essays written by Chinese students.

Organizing An Essay (book 2) could be used alone for a one or two semester writing course.

Writing, compiling materials and editing the books was a joint effort by foreign experts and Chinese English department faculty of Nanjing University. --Linell Davis (co-author of the series)
