Rather than focusing on one or two skills, some exercises can get students using all four language skills. Typically, the pattern is that:

  1. one student reads something and speaks it
  2. another student listens and writes it down

Fairly often they will have to spell out difficult words. This is also good practice, unless you misjudge the level and they end up spelling more-or-less everything.
