[edit] Lesson plan in a different way

Hi there Roger. I might lesson plan in a different way to you, but this is how I was thinking of adding to the Wiki. I come from the TESOL/Communicative style (with a few different ideas thrown in for good measure). Basically the structure goes along the lines of:

  • warm-up/review (5-10 mins)
  • new language/grammar (old style is choral/chant - I like flashcards/practise myself)
  • activities (2-3)
  • wrap-up (5-10 minutes)

For littlies it varies on the order, and smaller chunks constantly moving (e.g. some new language, activity or 2, some more new language, activity, etc).

I would really like to see these categories under the teach (in with the Speak, Listen, etc).

So the way I would (and do) reference/look for these things is based on:

  • activity type (warm-up, activity, assessment, etc)
  • topic/grammar point (food, colours, etc) - sometimes your topic can be inserted
  • level (of English - beginner, elementary, intermediate, ...)
  • age group (roughly, sometimes I can convert)

Don't exactly know how the category choosing fits into a Wiki... Maybe just a standard of entering in those fields would suffice.

Thoughts? - B

Hi B! Welcome to write lessons your way. Please plunge right in!
Categories and keywords help visitors find and identify stuff on Wikigogy. Both are organic systems intended to grow and mature to serve the needs of Wikigogy users like you, with help from users like you to extend and refine them as needed. Wikigogy is a fairly green wiki right now and your help really helps. Thanks for helping build and improve this! :-) Roger 22:33, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
