[edit] Web

  • Wikitravel's Teaching English article gives beginners their bearings.
  • Wikipedia (Simple English version) a simple English version for young readers and English as a second language learners. (Not readily accessible from China due to state Internet censorship.)
  • Project Gutenberg over 18,000 books available for free download, mainly in English. These are all works whose copyright has expired so you cannot get, say, the latest Harry Potter. However, if you want a magic story, you can have Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan instead. For most of the important 19th century authors, like Dickens or the Bronte sisters, they have the complete works.
  • Engrish has a collection of ghastly English, mostly from Japan but with examples from around the world. Amusing for teachers, and can be used as the basis of proofreading or correction exercises with advanced students.

[edit] Clip art

  • WP Clipart -- large public domain licensed clipart collection

[edit] More public domain leads

  • Wikipedia's list of Public domain resources may help you find public domain materials that can be used on Wikigogy. Remember however that Wikipedia pages themselves are not public domain, they are GFDL licensed, and cannot be used on Wikigogy.
