[edit] Overmoderated?
We moderate the lists to help them be friendly, topical and interesting to a large readership of 800 members.
We do this as volunteers because we care about it. We want your help.
When,
- messages get rejected that might have been better approved
- or get rejected in an unhelpful way
Please post the rejection note including the rejected message, below
with a comment about how you feel about it, and what we could do better
[edit] TEFLChinaLife-UNMODERATED
Mike Maas, a veteran of the TEFLChina email lists, runs an unmoderated list that may be of interest to TEFLChina members who want an unmoderated listing experience. See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/teflchinalife-unmoderated
[edit] Archive

[edit] Yahoo
If you want any messages deleted from just the Yahoogroups Archive please contact current list administrators Jeff Kruse or Karen Stanley. You can always contact all our current list administrators at teflchina-owner@yahoogroups.com
Karen Stanley is TEFLChina lists owner. I continue to be in touch but am not in change these days. --Roger 01:34, 6 May 2008 (CDT)
[edit] Nabble
BTW, here's how you can remove a message from the Nabble archive (I haven't looked into how one might do same at the other two archives). You must be its sender to delete a post from Nabble.com:
- Register at Nabble.com with the email address the post was from
- Log into Nabble.com with that address
- Open your message at Nabble.com that you want to delete and click the _delete_ link that appears under the by line in the message. This _delete_ link only appears when you are logged into Nabble with the address that sent the message.
Hopefully not something to worry mere mortals such as us.
Enjoy China. Don't fret the small stuff! --Roger 01:30, 6 May 2008 (CDT)
[edit] Gmane
I have not looked into how to remove messages from the Gmane archive. Google this or look in Gmane.com's about pages I guess. --Roger 01:37, 6 May 2008 (CDT)
[edit] Why redundant archives?
I, Roger, set up the TEFLChina, TEFLChinaJob and TEFLChinaLife archives at Gmane and Nabble (it may have been a single form). I think Osdir came along for the ride in just 2006 on their own. I set up the archives, beyond Yahoo's, because Yahoogroups could go away anytime and leave us archiveless. We had had a redundand archive at eScribe for years but they went away in 2004 or so. In 2006 I decided it sucked to have our archives that vulnerable to dissapearing. So I spread the seeds a little.
Don't know if it was wise or not but that's what we have at the moment. We can of course stop Gmane and Nabble from archiving the lists further anytime if we really want to, think. If it matters.

[edit] Osdir
Osdir.com seems to only have archived our messages in 2006 and then dropped us, maybe because Osdir is meant to be about open source, not teaching. Not sure.
For practical purposes, that leaves us archived at Yahoo, Gmane and Nabble.

[edit] eScribe
eScribe.com had our list archives backdated from our beginnings in 1996 to when eScribe went off the Internet in about 2004. It is doubtful that eScribe will ever come back online with that. --Roger 01:40, 6 May 2008 (CDT)
