This seeding project aims at assisting teachers in the Los Angeles Unified School District's Devision of Adult and Career Education ESL Beginning Low classes to meet their curricular requirements.

It presents a tool for accessing, building and sharing lessons that create interesting opportunities for communication while offering support for -- and means to evaluate -- the many specific skills sets required in competency based curricula.

The project consists of listing the ESL Beginning Low curricular requirements (learning goals) in three inter-related competency areas: Beginning-low life skills (things students do in their daily lives, such as completing a job application, etc.), Beginning-low language structures (grammar points, etc.) and Beginning-low language proficiencies (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Active items in each table cross reference to detailed IPAT lesson plans covering the respective competencies.
