[edit] Hello!

I'm a young Dutch woman with a fascination for languages!
I'm currently writing my master's thesis for Applied Linguistics, I hold a Bachelor's degree in the same field. During my years of studying I took three minors: Sign Language, American Studies, and Linguistics of English. My thesis is about sign language, but I intend to go out into the world once I graduate (May/June, 2007) and teach English abroad.

Over the years, the British accent I was taught in high school has disappeared to be replaced by an American accent. I'm always very proud when Americans don't hear I'm a foreigner!

My nickname Jantrao somewhat resembles my real name. A Thai man was unable to pronounce it properly and said it sounded like jantrao to him. This is an archaic Thai word for moon. During the time I stayed at his guest house, he insisted on calling me Jantrao and I quite liked it.

[edit] What I like to contribute

As a linguist, I'm fascinated by grammar. Not by learning grammar myself (please no!), but watching the wonderful workings of sentence building, word formation, prefixes, suffixes, circumfixes, etc. As a learner of English, I very well remember navigating my way through a forest of rules.
My contribution to Wikigogy would be to set up easy-to-understand grammar pages and linking them to the lesson plans that others put up. This way, someone who's looking for a specific grammar item, can find a comprehensive (yet easy) explanation and lesson plans to implement in the classroom.
