[edit] Thought I'd try over here
The techo promotional list sounds OK from a brief read - there's a web master Google site I saw a while back. You tell them about your site to improve the search category. There's also <meta> html code for your site. I'm not sure where this is found for a wiki (not set one up yet), but the hard-wired version is inside your <head> tag. From memory there's a description and keywords. Both of these help for searching sites (used to be the only way searches worked). Have a look for your meta tags in the settings and add loads of cool tags.
Ah, just noticed index.php? these aren't good URL's for search engines either. There's a HTACCESS way of creating fake addresses which look more like "/usertalk/roger/" - this makes search engines happy. Will look this up when I get time.
- Already set up that way, except action pages such as edit and history that we don't want indexed anyway. --Roger 18:50, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
Tomorrow is start of Semester 2 (or Term 2, depending on your country's terminology) - so I'm busily worrying about teaching for a bit. Will contrib where/when I can.
Anyway, cheers for a great start to a TEFL wiki! B 15:53, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
